Teaching Retreat I
Teaching Retreat I is designed
for people who feel that the Path
of Love work has deeply touched them and still
continues to enrich their lives. Path of Love is not
therapy, it is a way of love and life that is naturally
and
organically therapeutic – a soft place to fall and a
spring board for your highest potential.
This teaching retreat
is intended for a broad range of leaderships roles – including the
Path of Love work. It
also explores the role and responsibility of the facilitator
working in other healing or therapeutic modalities.
Teaching Retreat I will be innovative, interesting, at times
challenging and will also help you to be in a leadership position in the
rest of your life. As with all worthwhile learning processes, this will
be experiential and organic in both learning and the sharing of wisdom,
knowledge, practical tools and Love. This can support and provoke strong
personal transformation.
Some of the questions that participants will be
challenged to explore are:
• How am I perceived by
others in leadership positions what does this bring up
for me?
• Can I hold my ground when I speak in front
of a group?
• When do I lose my sense of presence and
focus? What are the merits that I can bring to
my work and thus to my life? Where can I enhance these
merits and how? What are my limits and limitations? What
are my specific relevant talents? What is my
experience of weakness within myself? What is my
experience of absolute knowing and strength? Where
do empathy and sympathy affect my realm of
experience?
The new vision of Path of Love is to make the teaching retreat work more
multi-dimensional. These days will be part retreat to deepen in the presence
of the Path of Love process and part training where we will do teaching as outlined in
the description, (see below). During these training retreats some people will
have opportunities to lead sharings and meditations. As there are limited
opportunities for people to actually work as a facilitator, we also want to
start training people to be Path of Love Counselors, leaders of burn
meditations and small sharing groups as well as to help strengthen the Path of Love
field through deeper presence and understanding of the basic principles of
the Path of Love process.
Path of Love facilitators will be chosen by Rafia and Turiya and will be
people that already have extensive experience in working psychologically
and emotionally with people both individually and in group settings.
Path of Love counselors are people that have skill in working with people
on a one to one basis. It is highly recommended that counselors have
some previous training in counseling and psychology and have some basic
therapeutic skills.

For Who?
If you are thinking of stepping into a leadership role
or as an individual counselor in the Path of Love
context then this is the course for you. Perhaps you
are already in a leadership role and would like to fine-
tune your presence, refresh the basics of your
understanding and skill level and imbibe the Path of
Love principles and essence for your own work.
Perhaps you just want to give yourself the gift of a
strong retreat with Rafia and Turiya . If you have a
strong desire to become more involved in the Path of
Love work; to run burn mediations, hold effective
sharing groups, aspire to be a facilitator or counselor,
organize and bring a Path of Love to your home
country - then this is an excellent first step.
The only prerequisite is that you have participated in
Path of Love at least once and that you have staffed
or make a commitment in your heart to staff
sometime in the near future.
If you want to be a facilitator or POL counselor you
need to have some basic therapeutic training and
skills in working with people psychologically and
emotionally.
This is the first part of an ongoing Teaching Retreats
After this first step it might become clearer to you
what your specific direction is and how you will
proceed with this work. There will be different levels
of experience and different levels of responsibilities
that each person will want to take after having done
the Teaching Retreat.
